As we all return to work on Monday morning, we will have already put the clocks back, enjoyed the extra hour in bed and most probably grumbled about cold damp dark mornings.
So for the next 6 months we will get in our cars in the dark, drive to work, toil for eight hours before getting into our cars to drive home. Before we know it, that journey will be in the dark as well.
Why am I telling you this?
The reason why is that whilst you are driving this winter, you will have just four small bits of rubber between you and the road. What you do not want is for these bits of rubber to fail you. Very soon, many of us will go for six months and never see the condition of our tyres in daylight. We do therefore, run the risk of travelling at very fast speeds on tyres that could be cut, worn or damaged.
Before the dark nights really set in, take a moment to check and ensure that your tires aren’t tyred. Why not ensure the windscreen wash is topped up as well?
Be safe this winter.
