A serial litigant, John Berry is reported to be earning thousands of pounds from employers who are using terms such as “school leaver” or “recent graduate” in job advertisments.
Although he does not apply for the jobs, he has initiated actions against at least 60 firms.
He uses the government’s tribunal service website to lodge age discrimination claims against employment agencies and other businesses.
Once the firm becomes aware of the action, Berry e-mails them to warn them that they
can avoid an emploment tribunal only by making him a “settlement” payment of up to £3,500.
