Quarter of workers have never experienced a full fire drill at work

A study has revealed that a quarter of workers have never experienced a full fire drill at work.

6% of people questioned admitted that they would stop to pick up a cup of tea or coffee when the fire alarm sounds before leaving the building.

42% of people questioned also said that they would stop and spend time retrieving personal belongings or work documents before they left the building.

Contrary to popular belief that full evacuations are a waste of time they actually ensure that people know what to do in the event of a fire, and if there normal exit is blocked, where their alternative escape route is.

Dying in a fire must be one of the most painful and horrible ways to die, don’t be the

next casualty.

If your employer does not carry out fire drills, then request that he does, you may be eternally grateful.
