Fluorescent light tubes have been classified as hazardous waste since July 16th 2005, and can therefore, only be collected and disposed of by a licensed waste management company.

Did you know that a single fluorescent light tube contains enough mercury to contaminate 30,000 litres of water and mercury is the World Health Organisation’s (WHO) Number One environmental poison. For this reason, everyone should be committed to minimising any potential harm to the environment by recycling all fluorescent lighting.
If you need advice, please contact Sensible Safety Solutions Limited and we will gladly direct you to an approved company so you can dispose of your fluorescent light tubes safely.
