Following a case at the Court of Appeal, drivers are being warned that they don’t even need to be in their vehicle to be found guilty of causing death by careless driving.Raymond Jenkins was trying to deliver building supplies to premises off the A68 in Durham. However, due to other vehicles blocking the entrance, Jenkins had to park his lorry on the A68. He left the vehicle near a right-hand bend on a single carriageway which had double white lines. His hazards lights were on and he left the engine running.
